My momma’s crispy sugar cookies. They are light, airy, and crispy. They melt in your mouth.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 227 g butter (1 c)
  • 240 g vegetable oil (1 c)
  • 200 g sugar (1 c)
  • 125 g powdered sugar (1 c)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 520 g flour (4 c)

Instructions

  1. Cream together first 4 ingredients (butter or margarine, veg. oil, sugar & powdered sugar).
  2. Add vanilla, eggs, salt, baking soda, cream of tartar & flour to creamed ingredients.
  3. Roll in balls, then in additional sugar.
  4. Press lightly onto greased pan.
  5. Bake 10-12 mins at 375° F / 190° C
